All you need to do is to plug-in the USB modem into a USB port of your computer and wait for the application to start. Beside the actual software it will also install drivers. If it's not working then you will need to install the drivers manually using Device manager (you can find it when you click My Computer > Properties) and then browsing to the Drive of the USB stick in My Computer. These instructions are available for all the USB modems, but if you encounter problems you should contact the Vodafone service.
I constantly get the 'NO DEVICE" error message. Sometimes this thing connects to the Internet, but sometimes it doesn't.

You need to check the Device Manager to check whether the device is properly installed or not. If not, the device needs to be installed again. On the other hand, this could be a hardware error and you might need to replace the device. The installation package is launched automatically when the device is inserted after the previous version of the software is removed.

You can go to Control Panel > Programs and features > Uninstall a program and select it from the list then use Uninstall and follow the instructions. Make sure to select the lower version of the application in order to keep the newest one installed. If the software is not system dependent, you can simply navigate to Program Files in C: drive and delete it from that location.
First insert the modem into the USB port of your computer and wait for Windows to make it available in My computer. Right click the modem and select Explore. Locate the application and right click it. Select Properties > Compatibility > Windows XP and proceed to its installation using Run as Administrator.
Restart the computer and plug the USB back then go to Device Manager (Computer > Properties > Device Manager). Locate the modem in the list and select it using Update driver. Point the installer to the installation folder in Program Files and your modem is installed.
There is no need to download it since the application is stored on the internal storage of the modem. Right click the modem's drive in My Computer and select Explore. You will see the application in one of stored the folders.
Try reinstalling the software because this could be a problem with the configuration settings. Alternatively, you might need to check the balance of your account because this is usually the cause of SMS problem. Your SMS credit/service plan might be depleted and thus you cannot use the service anymore.

Why does it not work properly? The Signal shows very good, but if I connect it goes away.
